Albuquerque, NM — On Saturday, May 2, 2020, New Mexicans will unite at the State Capital to demand Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham take the necessary steps to begin responsibly and fairly opening New Mexico businesses.
“Today’s press conference was the Governor’s attempt to take the wind out of people’s sails that are voicing their discontent with her administration.
The Governor isn’t making sense. One minute the message is ‘stay home save lives,’ now it’s the numbers are higher than ever before, and we’re ready to let some small businesses do limited operations.
Counties are beginning to pass resolutions that ask the Governor to allow small businesses to operate with the same big-box store precautions and are passing with the support of Democratic Commissioners. Protecting our citizens includes protecting their livelihood, and this not a partisan issue.
The Governor is responsible for actions that allow small businesses to open and compete with big corporations. There’s room for intelligent compromise. The economic recovery will be long, and we must start now.”, Kokinadis said.
The Mother of All Grassroots Rallies will include a caravan protest and public assembly at the Roundhouse from 10 am until 1 pm.
The following candidates are confirmed speakers:
- Gavin Clarkson for US Senate
- Harry Montoya for US House of Representatives CD3
- Brett Kokinadis for US House of Representatives CD1
- Audrey Trujillo for NM House of Representatives D23
Attendees are advised to practice social distancing and wear personal protective equipment. Non-perishable food donations will be collected to support NM food banks.
